Tanzanian Born Herieth Paul Covers Elle Canada
Tanzanian born Canadian model, Herieth Paul, is on the July 2011 issue of Elle Canada. In her interview she talks about her transition from living in Dar es Salaam, her feature in the CK One campaign, closing the show for Lacoste and wanting to be famous for 30 years like Naomi Campbell.
Paul moved to Canada with her diplomat mother in 2007. At the age of 14, the modeling rookie walked into an open-call casting in her hometown of Ottawa, and got herself signed on the spot. Now, the 16-year-old is represented by Women Direct, under the watchful eye of nineties “It” model turned model booker Jenny Shimizu. Zimbabwe Born Nyasha Matonhodze is New Face of Louis Vuitton
Africans are doing big things around the globe! Zimbabwe-born British beauty, Nyasha Matonhodze, at only 16-years-old has been chosen as spokesmodel for Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter campaign. Following in the footsteps of Madonna and Scarlett Johansson, Matonhodze has been chosen to appear in the French fashion label’s autumn/winter 2011 campaign, shot by renowned fashion photographer, Steven Meisel.
“My eyes filled up with tears and I thought ‘Lord you are lucky!’” said Matonhodze of the moment she discovered she had been chosen to star as one of six up-and-coming models in Vuitton’s campaign, photographed in a vintage car at a disused Brooklyn aerodrome. “It didn’t actually hit me until I was sat in a Rolls Royce sitting eye-to-eye with Mr Meisel. He is a wonder to work with, he and Marc [Jacobs}made me feel beautiful”. (more…)
Kimora Lee Simmons: The Early Years
I’m not a huge fan of reality TV but I must admit, I was addicted to Kimora: Life In The Fab Lane. Kimora Lee Simmons is an amazing woman. Some may argue that she owes her success to her ex-husband, Russell Simmons. I beg to differ. She is a savvy businesswoman, author, philanthropist, producer, top model, television personality, Tony Award winner and — according to Forbes Magazine — Kimora Lee Simmons is one of the top “hardest working mothers in Hollywood.”
A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Kimora stood out in the crowd. By age 10 she was already 5’10, towering above her classmates. To build her confidence her mother enrolled her in modeling classes. At age 13, her unique exotic mix of Asian and African-American beauty captured the attention of agents at a Midwest model search. She was soon whisked away to Paris and quickly earned an exclusive contract with the House of Chanel. Karl Lagerfeld declared her his “muse” and deemed her the “Face of the 21st Century.” Kimora has graced the covers and pages of international fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar. She has also modeled for some of the world’s most legendary designers including Christian Dior, Roberto Cavalli and Yves Saint Laurent in addition to posing for iconic fashion photographers such as Patrick Demarchelier, Peter Lindberg and Annie Leibovitz. From Beyonce’s Success Class 101, KNOW HOW TO BRAND YOURSELF. She’s serious about her money. She’s not like a regular woman. Many women think having a rich hubby automatically exempts them from excelling and from hard work. Granted having a husband is in itself a full time job, but you can’t tell me Jay-Z is not awe-struck by the phenomenon that is his wife. Bish is launching her second fragrance! That’s on top of everything else she has going like music (including tours), clothing line, family, etc. She’s a superwoman!
Beyonce is launching a new fragrance named Heat Rush, as a successor to the last year’s edition Heat. Her first fragrance was a great success and thrilled Beyonce’s fans. In February 2011, just a year after Heat, the new perfume is arriving on the market. (more…)

No, I’m not lesbian. I’m just secure enough in my own skin to point out a good looking woman. Kelly performed a three-song set Monday night at the Sun Life stadium for the Miami Dolphins game. Meet Flaviana Matata… Born in 1987 in Shinyanga, Tanzania, Flaviana shot to international fame during the 2007 Miss Universe finals in Mexico City where she placed as one of the Top Ten semi-finalists and clinched the sixth spot among 77 participants from around the world. She had won the very first edition of the Miss Universe Tanzania pageant in 2007, and went on to represent her country in the Miss Universe finals the same year. Flaviana made history for being the first Miss Universe contestant to compete with a shaved head. In June 2008, Flaviana left for Johannesburg, South Africa to begin her work under a one year contract with Ice Model Agency. (more…)

So I figure I need to do a post about the enigma that is Amber Rose. She suddenly burst into the limelight this year on the arm of Kanye West. From the jump, paparazzi just couldn’t get enough of her. With her signature blonde, cropped hair, she has taken the world by storm. Hate her or lover her, you can’t knock her hustle. She’s come from being a stripper (yeah I know!) to inking a modelling contract with Ford Models. Bish is getting that money. And you know how she looked plain ghetto when she came out? She seems to be making the transformation to a bad, classy itchbay!!! I try not to knock people for their mistakes or what not.
