Vivica Fox Unleashes Diva Attitude in South Africa
Vivica Fox seems to have packed her huge ego into her suitcase when she left the States for South Africa. Minister of Sports and Recreation, Fikile Mbalula, invited South African celebrities, sportsmen and women, and politicians to help him welcome international stars Brandy, Vivica A. Fox, Regina King, Sugar Ray Leonard and more to the country ahead of the South African Sports Awards on Sunday when the international celebrities will be presenting awards.
Just hours after arriving in the country, US actress Vivica A Fox threw a tantrum of note at local celebrities including Live presenter Bonang Matheba, Minnie Dlamini and Terry Pheto at Randlords, in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
All was merry until the MC, TBO Touch, invited Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula, and his American guests on stage for a photograph. Touch then asked Matheba and Generations actress Sonia Sedibe to join the group.
Before long, Dlamini, Pheto and another Generations actress, Sophie Ndaba, joined the fray. As the flashbulbs went off, Fox began getting edgy, and was then seen telling the local celebrities off.
Fox said: “Oh no, I don’t mean to be rude, but please could you get off the stage? Yes, go, get off the stage.” She gestured vigorously at them. Dlamini was particularly peeved, and walked off the stage. This really angered the locals and, predictably, a twitter trend got going: #TakeVivicaBackHome
Owen Khumalo took to his twitter page: “#ThatAwakwardMoment When Vivica A. Fox throws diva tantrums at the event she’s been unnecessarily flown to and paid for”
TV and Radio personality, Bonang, Matheba, who was also at the event, also took to her twitter page: “The way Vivica REDUCED us today!! Kwaahaahaaaaaa!!! I’ve never!”
Celebrity make up artist, Nthato Mashishi said this of the actress: “Tjo.. I’m so disappointed by Vivica Fox’s behavior… so ghetto maaan”
Vivica, if there is a next time, please don’t bring your attitude with you. Americans may be able to stomach you, but Africans couldn’t give two shits about you.
If this happened in Kenya, I wonder what TT #KenyansonTwitter would come up with :-)
