Our Top Ten Golden Globes Red Carpet Looks

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards got off to a soggy start on the red carpet due to a sprinkler mishap. Thankfully, it didn’t affect the beautiful gowns that were on parade. My absolutely favourite look of the evening was worn by 45 year old Naomi Watts who was in a soft gold metallic halterneck slinky Tom Ford gown. She accessorized perfectly with a chunky chain link choker, a gold cuff around her wrist, a metallic Bulgari clutch bag and Jimmy Choos to match. All class.

Coming in at number 2 is the gorgeous star of 12 Years a Slave, Lupita Nyong’o! Starting of the year with a fabulous W Magazine cover, she did not disappoint in this caped Ralph Lauren column gown. With such a dramatic dress, Lupita made a smart choice in not over accessorizing. Vogue wrote of Lupita: ‘She  stole every red-carpet heart this fall with her  clean silhouettes,  close-cropped coif and ear-to-ear smile,’ and this  look was no  different. Her next film, Non-Stop, starring Liam Neeson is  to be released on February 28.

At number 3 is The Wolf of Wall Street star, Margot Robbie who lit up the red carpet in a V-neck cream Gucci gown embellished with jewels on the shoulders and waist. A  thigh-high slit added sex appeal to the look, which she paired with natural  make-up and polished pulled-back hair. She accessorized the look with Christian Louboutin shoes and Van Cleef jewels.

40 year old Kate Beckinsale comes in at number 4 in a  Zuhair Murad fishtail gown, complete with plunging neckline and train. Her hair was styled into a messy bun at the side, while her accessories were kept to  a minimum to let her plunging dress do the talking. She finished off the look with Jimmy Choo shoes, Edie Parker clutch, and Chopard jewels.

At number 5 is Breaking Bad’s Anna Gunn in a gilded strapless Donna Karan Atelier mermaid-style  dress which was tight at the bust and waist and fit the actress snugly all the way  down to her knees where it flared out to an irresistible train. She wore her light-blonde hair gathered in an  elegant updo that served to display her slim neck and beautifully sloping  shoulders all the more. Anna accessorized with an Edie Parker clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

At number 6, Angela Bassett proves that black don’t crack! The 56 year old looked amazing in sexy black gown with a dangerously plunging neckline. It’s a bit difficult to get deets on who she’s wearing but I’m working on it…

Cate Blanchett is in the seventh position with her stunning Armani Prive black lace and tulle gown. The 44 year old Australian star wore her hair in a tucked updo to expose her stunning leaf wreath diamond earrings and a matching diamond bracelet.

Mila Kunis dazzles at number 8 in a grey halterneck Gucci Premiere gown which was heavily embellished at the bust and featured a backless cut. The flowing chiffon attire was also cinched  in at the waist by a thin belt that accentuated her slender middle. Mila swept her hair up into a sleek bun and  accessorized with Gucci shoes and clutch, and Gemfields emerald earrings with bangle and ring by Marina B.

At number 9, Taylor Swift oozed glamour in a red gown with black bandeau and gathered bustle from Carolina Herrera’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection. The 24 year old accessorized with Christian Louboutin shoes, a Jimmy Choo clutch, and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Rounding out our list at number 10 is Fashion Police’s Kelly Osbourne who was in a black Escada Pre Fall 2014 gold floral embroidered gown.  The dress had a slit to the the knee which  accentuated her slender figure and showed off a pair of gold heels. She accessorized with gold jewelry and her violet locks finished off the look.

And there you have it; our top ten red carpet looks. What did you think?
