Tamera Mowry Speaks on Sex Before Marriage

So much has been said about whether or not to remain celibate before marriage. Times have changed, people’s views have changed, and even social standards for relationships have changed. Through it all, some people prefer to hold fast to tradition and keep sex within the marital institution. I think it’s remarkably difficult, but as some have proven, it’s something that can be done.

Ebony Magazine recently caught up with newlywed Tamera Mowry Housley and it looks as though she is quite passionate about ‘no sex before marriage’. She  revealed to the publication that she was  abstinent before she got married to Fox News Anchor Adam Housley and she  does not believe a couple should live together before marriage.

EBONY: Tamera you mentioned in an interview that you and [your husband, Fox News Correspondent] Adam [Housley] not only didn’t live together, you also remained celibate until you married last year. Why did you choose that route and do you have any advice for your fans who are trying to follow in your footsteps in that regard?

TAMERA: Adam and I took a break from dating for about a year. We missed each other and something was drawing us together, but more than that, we wanted to make sure that this relationship was what God wanted for our lives.  [In order to know] if we are meant to be together, we said, ‘it’s got to be God’s way and not our way.’ We didn’t want to half-step anything [or have clouded judgment]. So our right way was the way we felt God wanted us to do it which was being celibate. We said to God, ‘This is who we are, I know you take us as we are, our faults, our fears, our joys, our hope as a couple and have your way.’ (more…)

Lance Gross Is Single But Dating

I’m a huge Lance Gross fan so I love when he gives interviews that tell us a little more about Lance the man. He was recently voted Vibe Vixen’s #1 Finest Man Alive. Lance spoke to Vibe’s Starrene Rhett and discussed everything from what he looks for in a woman to what it was like being picked on in school. He also shares his  feelings on his failed engagement to model turned actress Eva Marcille. The only part I don’t get is how you can be single but dating… I mean, if we’re dating, even though it may not be serious yet, I expect some kind of exclusivity. Or am I just too demanding?

How does it feel to be ranked as VIBE Vixen’s number one finest man alive?

It’s definitely an honor. It caught me by surprise. I didn’t even expect to make the list so I appreciate whoever voted or however you guys came up with it. I’m honored.

You said you’re surprised to make the list but ladies are in love with you. Whenever we tweet about you the timeline goes nuts, so aren’t you used to having been considered the hot guy throughout your life?

No. I was actually picked on as a kid. I guess in high school it started to change for me. I guess being picked on made a lasting impression on me so I never⎯whenever somebody calls me handsome or anything like that I never take it for granted. I appreciate it every time I hear it so it’s never something that gets old. (more…)

Lance Gross: A Man’s View On Love

I’m a sucker for men who are not afraid to speak up about their feelings. I find it really sexy. Today, I bring you the chocolate sexiness that is actor, Lance Gross. This dude is hot. And from this interview, it seems he believes in love… The things I would do to this man…if I were not engaged that is… 🙂

On modern day relationships
I’ve learned our generation isn’t the same. What my parents had and have…we’re just so different, we don’t think the same and people aren’t into working on themselves. If I’m in love with you, I’m in love with you. You don’t have to worry about anything. If you’re mine, I’m yours. I’ll give you everything that you need. (more…)

3 Hot Men On Essence October Cover

Ladies please make sure you grab your copy of Essence Mag’s October issue. On the cover they have Blair Underwood, Boris Kodjoe and Lance Gross. These 3 dashing men will be speaking about their love for black women. I think Essence is trying to make up for the time when they featured Reggie Bush in their “Black Men, Love and Relationships” issue (he was dating a non-black woman, Kim Kardashian at the time). I think it’s time for men to stop justifying who they are in love with. I could care less who you’re sleeping with. I just want to see you with your shirt off 🙂

Gentlemen, you’re not forgotten here. Check out the September 40th Anniversary cover and see if Iman, Naomi Campbell and Liya Kebede do anything for you. (more…)
