Adele Covers March 2012 Issue of Vogue Magazine

British superstar Adele, who picked up 6 Grammies this past weekend, covers the March 2-12 issue of US Voguemagazine. Adele stuns in all of the images in the spread (taken by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot). She declares, “I’m a big personality,” and in her first American Vogue cover, she is larger than life and as gorgeous as any of the models also featured inside the issue. The cover is a little suggestive, but tastefully so, as Adele shows just a hint of cleavage, with her voluminous hair blown back. It’s sexy in the most subtle of ways. In the close ups of her face inside the mag, which hone in on our her peaches and cream complexion and her expressive eyes, traced in black winged eyeliner, she looks like a human Barbie doll.

The 23-year-old chanteuse, who was born Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, talks about how her life has changed since her multi-platinum 21was released, and how she has had to adjust since throat surgery threatened to end her career.

Here’s what the 23-year-old singer had to share: (more…)

Teyana Taylor in Leso Inspired Sleeveless Jacket

Teyana Taylor has a fabulous fashion sense, according to me. She’s not afraid to try new stuff. One could argue that she’s a fashion trendsetter. She  recently unleashed her fierceness in a fashion spread for Vibe magazine. Rocking African, Lebanese and Indian-inspired prints while letting her FAB mane blow in the wind, she exuded pure sexiness. These outfits would be great for those ladies planning on looking awesome at the beach during the Easter holidays. I love love love the leso sleeveless jacket she’s wearing in the pic above. I need to look for a tailor who can pull it off because I’m not paying $595 for barely a quarter of a leso.

African-print sleeveless jacket, $595, L.A.M.B; animal-print one-piece swimsuit, $25, H&M; Hunan three-hoops earrings, $225, Masha; Vintage Kuchi Upper Arm Cuff, $35, Contemporary Kuchi Bell Anklets, $24, Tribal Belly Dance Fish Belt, $86, all Silk Road Tribal; “Watchout” shoe $110, Steve Madden. Check out the other looks from the shoot after the break. (more…)

Beyonce is Back on the Grind

All you Beyonce fans can now breathe easy. Your queen is finally back to work. God help us all! She hasn’t released a project since the 2008 release of “I Am…Sasha Fierce” which has sold over 7 million records worldwide but it seems she’s working on something major. Beyonce tapped into her seriously 70’s side for a brand new photoshoot in New Jersey.  She and her team transformed an old motel into a set as she rocked an uber blonde ‘do, dark vampy lipstick, a wide leg pant one-piece, and a red shaggy coat. I don’t know about you but she’s giving me a serious drag queen vibe in these pics.

Beyonce and her people went full out with the makeup and wardrobe for this photoshoot.  She worked it out with colorful luggge, even more colorful platform shoes, and an attention grabbing outfit at this old abandoned motel.  Apparently she wants to re-invent herself for her upcoming LP and has recently enlisted London Producer Dave Taylor, aka Switch to produce some of the project. She told MTV last year: (more…)

Bruno Mars For GQ April 2011

Bruno Mars is featured in the April 2011 issue of GQ magazine. Mars has had an amazing year – scoring triple-platinum sales, landing seven Grammy nominations, and for fun authored the hook from Cee Lo’s “Fuck You.” The 25-year-old ‘Grenade’ singer sports Sean John, Armani, and Burberry in his photo spread. Inside, he opens up about what he’s learned from his recent arrest for cocaine possession while performing in Las Vegas:

“I’m not gonna preach that I’m a role model. I’m a fu**ing musician! But I’ve learned people are watching, so don’t do nothing stupid.”

He also shares a few fashion tips for men. I hope Sauti Sol are listening. You can experiment with the whole metrosexual swag without coming off as someone who’s trying too hard. Keep reading for what Bruno had to say and check out more pics from the spread after the break. (more…)

Chris Brown For GQ Italia April 2011

Don’t you just love a sharply dressed man? That’s one thing I really miss about clubbing in the States. The men were always on point. I think in Kenya, Nairobi to be specific, men don’t pay as much attention to how they look. Our male counterparts should realize that we appreciate it when they spend some time on how they look, just the same way they appreciate when we get all glammed up for them.

With all that being said, I think the world is beginning to forgive Chris Brown. He is featured in the April issue of GQ Italia looking all kinds of delicious! For the feature that was photographed before he entered his experimental blondie stage, he posed in menswear by Dolce & Gabanna, Georgio Armani, Roy Rogers, and Tom FordHe was photographed by Kai Z. Feng and styled under the fashion direction of Andrea Tenerani. Check out more pics after the break. (more…)

Rihanna Covers Vogue April 2011

Rihanna is featured on the cover of the April 2011 issue of Vogue. Shot by Annie Leibovitz, Rihanna looks unsurprisingly gorgeous. The only issue I have with her is the red hair. It just refuses to grow on me. I think it makes her look a bit cartoonish. I hated Angeline Jolie’s December cover but loved the shoot itself. In Rihanna’s case, I love the cover but feel Leibovitz could have done more with the shoot itself because, let’s face it, Rihanna is a very photogenic girl. They could have pushed the envelope a bit more.

In the issue, she talks about how fame has shaped her for better or worse. The surprising part is that she really tears into her dad:

“It really makes me question what I have become to my father. Like, what do I even mean to him?” “It’s really strange. That’s the only word I can think of to describe it, because you grow up with your father, you know him, you are part of him for goodness’ sakes! (more…)
